Shopify Ecommerce Connected to SAP Business One 2026

Silicium Laboratories Europe

Custom middleware that connects Silicium's Shopify store to SAP Business One, SendCloud, and HubSpot: web orders enter the ERP on their own, stock flows down to the store every 15 minutes, and shipping labels come out of SAP.

01The challenge

The challenge

Silicium Laboratories Europe makes organic silicon supplements in Vila-seca and sells them online to consumers and healthcare professionals. In early 2026 its store ran on PrestaShop and it was just starting to use SAP Business One as its ERP. It needed every web sale to reach SAP without anyone typing it in, the stock, prices, and price lists in SAP to take precedence in the store, and shipments to go out from the ERP itself. Phone orders and orders from professionals originate in SAP, so information had to flow both ways. And the platform had to change without losing the customer and order history going back to 2018.

02The solution

The solution

We migrated the store from PrestaShop to Shopify with its full history: customers, orders since 2018, and store credit. Then we built a middleware layer in Node.js and TypeScript that runs on the client's own server. Every order paid in Shopify arrives by webhook and becomes a sales order in SAP, with the customer record created or updated, and a sweep every 30 minutes picks up any order whose notification didn't arrive. In the other direction, SAP is in charge: stock and customers flow down to Shopify every 15 minutes, prices and price lists every hour, and orders that originate in SAP appear in the store every 5 minutes. When the warehouse marks an order as ready, the middleware creates the shipment in SendCloud, chooses the carrier, and handles multi-parcel shipments, cash on delivery, and customs outside the EU. The label comes back as a PDF to the SAP order, and the delivery shows up in Shopify. Every night, SAP's professional customers are pushed to HubSpot as companies, with their contacts. Inside SAP, the team has custom reports on batches, new customers, and sales, and the discounts applied in SAP reach Shopify with the final price. We also look after the Shopify theme and its technical SEO: we integrated the organic silicon pages prepared by the client's SEO team so they display properly in all five languages, and fixed the code that repeated their structured data and hreflang across the store's roughly 460 pages and duplicated their canonical tag. The blog lives on HubSpot, with hreflang and canonical tags in all five languages. And so as not to lose the links and traffic of the old domain, we 301-redirected the 1,064 addresses on siliciumg5.com to their equivalent on the new site, product by product and article by article, and checked them live.

03Architecture

How a request flows

  1. A customer pays for an order in the Shopify store and Shopify notifies the middleware with a webhook

  2. The middleware creates the sales order in SAP Business One and creates or updates the customer record; if a notification is lost, the sweep that runs every 30 minutes recovers it

  3. SAP sends stock and customers back to the store every 15 minutes, prices and price lists every hour, and phone and professional orders every 5 minutes

  4. When the warehouse marks the order as ready in SAP, the middleware creates the shipment in SendCloud with the right carrier, parcels, and customs documents

  5. The PDF label is attached to the SAP order and, when the carrier delivers, Shopify marks the order as delivered

  6. Every night, SAP's professional customers are synced to HubSpot as companies, with their invoiced revenue and their contacts

Methodology: The frequencies come from the middleware configuration in production, reviewed in October 2026. The percentage of migrated orders comes from the migration log (April 2026): the remaining 0.3% were old orders with incomplete data. That web orders are not keyed into SAP by hand is what the client says in its Clutch review, and it is how the flow is built: webhook plus recovery sweep. SAP Business One was implemented by the client's SAP partner; our work is the integration, the migration, and the store. The 1,064 siliciumg5.com addresses come from the redirect inventory (October 2026) and were checked live one by one. We do not publish customer or order volumes.

05The process

The process

  1. Data map

Which data is authoritative in each system and which way it travels: orders, customers, stock, prices, and shipments

  2. Migration

From PrestaShop to Shopify with customers, orders since 2018, and store credit

  3. Shopify and SAP

Orders by webhook into SAP; stock, prices, price lists, and customers back to the store

  4. Logistics

SendCloud shipments triggered from SAP, with multi-parcel, cash on delivery, and customs outside the EU

  5. CRM

SAP's professional customers in HubSpot as companies, with their contacts

  6. SEO and Old Domain

Organic silicon pages in five languages, canonical tags and structured data fixed, and 1,064 siliciumg5.com addresses 301-redirected

  7. Evolution

Orders segmented by customer type and price list, deliveries visible in Shopify, SAP discounts with their final price in the store, and custom reports inside SAP
