What does an n8n and Make agency do?

An n8n and Make agency designs, builds and maintains automations between a company’s applications (CRM, ERP, online store, email, spreadsheets, invoicing) using these two platforms: it decides which process is worth automating, builds the workflow, tests it with real data, monitors it in production and fixes it when an API changes.

n8n can be installed on your own servers, so data never leaves your infrastructure; Make is a cloud service with a very complete visual editor. Both include AI nodes. Which tool suits you, or whether your case calls for a custom agent, we explain with prices and sources in n8n vs Make vs a custom AI agent. This page is what we do with them.

Summary

Executive Summary

For leadership.

Building a workflow in n8n or Make takes an afternoon. The hard part is what comes after: making sure an order is not duplicated when a notification arrives twice, that someone finds out when an API changes and the workflow stops working, that personal data does not end up in a cloud you do not control and that, a year from now, someone still knows what each workflow does. That is where home-made automations fail quietly.

We do the whole job: we pick the process with the best return, build it in self-hosted n8n (on European servers, with a server cost of around €50 a month and no execution limit) or in Make when it fits better, add AI only where it is needed and leave error paths, retries, alerts and logs in place from day one. If the process grows to the point where it needs code or an agent that reasons, we tell you and move it to a custom agent without throwing away what works.

  • €3,000-15,000 Implementation per process
  • ~€50/month Self-hosted n8n server
  • €500-1,000/month Managed maintenance

What's included

What Each Automation Includes

What we deliver for every process, in n8n or Make.

  • Process analysis: which steps are automated, which system owns each piece of data and what a person decides
  • Workflow built and tested with real data, including the edge cases that break automations
  • Error handling: error paths, retries and an alert to a person when something does not add up
  • No duplicates: each record is processed once even if the notification arrives twice
  • Logs of every execution so you know what happened, when and with which data
  • AI where it is needed: classifying, extracting data from a document, drafting a reply
  • n8n on your server or on one of ours in Europe, with backups, updates and encrypted credentials
  • Documentation for every workflow: what it does, what it depends on and how to stop it
  • Handover or maintenance: we hand it to your team or keep watching it ourselves

Why

n8n on Your Servers, or Make in the Cloud

Where the data lives decides the tool before the price does.

With self-hosted n8n, the workflows and the data flowing through them stay in your infrastructure or on a European server we manage: it is what we recommend when there is personal, customer or health data, or high volume, because you do not pay per execution. With Make, there is no server to maintain and the visual editor is very comfortable for marketing or operations teams; you choose the European region and pay for usage. In both cases we apply the same rules: encrypted credentials, minimum permissions in every connected application and a log of what comes in and what goes out. The n8n licence allows an agency to install it for you and maintain your workflows; it does not allow reselling it as a service to third parties.

Key points

What We Automate With n8n and Make

Processes we see in almost every company. The first is usually the one eating the most hours.

  1. 01

    Integrations between SaaS applications

A form contact reaching the CRM, a new customer creating their record in invoicing, a sale alerting the team in Slack, with no copy and paste. Using connectors where they exist and direct API calls where they do not.

  2. 02

    Online store, ERP and logistics

Orders flowing into the ERP on their own, stock and prices going down to the store, shipments created when the order is packed. When volume or logic demands it, we build it as custom middleware, as explained in ERP and ecommerce integration.

  3. 03

    AI workflows

Classifying emails and tickets, extracting data from invoices or delivery notes, summarising a call or drafting a reply for a person to review. The model works on one specific step of the workflow, connected as in LLM integration.

  4. 04

    Leads, reports and internal alerts

Enriching and routing leads, building the weekly report from several tools, alerting when a metric goes out of range. Repetitive work nobody should be doing by hand every Monday.

How we work

How We Work

From the first meeting to the first automation running: 2-4 weeks.

  1. 01

    Pick the Process

We review the candidate processes with you and start with the one costing you the most time or errors today. We tell you which tool we would use and why, and whether any of them is not worth automating.

    Week 1
  2. 02

    Build and Test

We build the workflow, test it with real data and force the failures: duplicate notifications, an API down, incomplete data. If it runs on self-hosted n8n, we set up the server with backups and encrypted credentials.

    Weeks 2-3
  3. 03

    Go Live

We switch on the workflow with error alerts to whoever you choose and a log of every execution. We watch it closely for the first few weeks.

    Weeks 3-4
  4. 04

    Handover or Maintenance

We hand over the documentation and train your team, or we carry on with managed maintenance: monitoring, fixes and adjustments when an application changes.

    Every month

Who it is for

Is It Right for You?

It fits when you have repetitive processes between applications you already use and want them to run without watching them by hand.

Who it's for

  • Teams copying data between the CRM, the store, the ERP and spreadsheets every week.
  • Companies with workflows in n8n, Make or Zapier that nobody maintains and that fail without warning.
  • Companies with personal or sensitive data that want to automate without taking it out of their infrastructure.
  • Operations teams that want AI in one specific step (classify, extract, summarise) without a large project.

Who it's not for

  • If the process requires reasoning over your data and making decisions: that is a custom AI agent.
  • If the volume or logic is so large that the workflow becomes unmanageable: that calls for code, and we will tell you.
  • If you do not yet know which process to automate or what it costs you today: start with AI consulting.
  • If it is a two-step automation you can build yourself in an afternoon: do it, you do not need an agency.

Investment

How Much n8n or Make Automation Costs

The same prices we already publish for process automation. Excluding VAT.

The price depends on how many systems the process touches, whether it uses AI and how many edge cases it has. After the first meeting we give you a fixed figure per process.

  • Automation per process Most common

    €3,000-15,000

One complete process in self-hosted n8n or in Make, depending on the case.

    • Process analysis and choice of tool
    • Workflow built and tested with real data
    • Error paths, retries, alerts and logs
    • AI in the steps that need it
    • Documentation and training
    • First automation running in 2-4 weeks
    Talk to an Architect
  • Managed maintenance

    €500-1,000/month

Optional, separate from the project. So someone keeps an eye on your workflows.

    • Monitoring of executions and errors
    • Fixes when an API or application changes
    • Updates and backups of the n8n server
    • Adjustments and small changes to the workflows
    Talk to an Architect

A self-hosted n8n server costs around €50 a month in our deployments; subscriptions to Make or n8n Cloud, if you use them, are paid to each provider. If the process needs a custom AI agent, the entry tier is €25,000-50,000, as explained in <a href="/en/agentic-ai-development">AI agent development</a>.

The proof

The Same Discipline, Already in Production

We do not have a published case study built with n8n or Make. What we do have in production is what makes an automation hold up: for Silicium we custom-built the synchronisation between Shopify, SAP Business One, SendCloud and HubSpot. Every paid order enters SAP from a store notification, a sweep every 30 minutes picks up any notification that gets lost, stock goes down to the store every 15 minutes and no web order is keyed into SAP by hand. For Asufin we automated the lifecycle of members’ claims (intake, assignment, legal documents and notifications) inside a Laravel application, and case handling time fell by 60%. And Nexo, our platform, runs more than ten live integrations and creates 90% of time entries through automated channels. These are the same problems we solve in n8n and Make: duplicates, lost notifications, errors nobody sees.

  • 4 Systems connected at Silicium
  • 15 min From SAP stock to the Silicium store
  • 10+ Live integrations in Nexo
  • 5.0 Clutch rating

For the CTO

Technical Summary

For the CTO.

Self-hosted n8n on Docker on your server or a European one, with a PostgreSQL database, scheduled backups and the credentials encryption key kept outside the repository. For high volume, n8n in queue mode with Redis and several workers. Workflows are exported and versioned in Git for history and rollback. In Make, scenarios with error handlers and the European region.

Every workflow is designed to be idempotent (processing the same notification twice duplicates nothing), with retries on calls that can fail, a recovery sweep for notifications that never arrive and an error workflow that alerts a person. Calls to AI models sit in bounded steps, with the output validated before anything is written to a system. When a workflow grows too large, we move it to code in Node.js or Python, which is how we built the Silicium integrations.

Risks and how we cover them

The Risks We Avoid

What we find when automations nobody maintained land on our desk.

  1. 01

A workflow stops working and nobody notices for weeks

    Mitigation

Every workflow has an error path that alerts a person, and with managed maintenance we monitor failed executions.

  2. 02

Duplicate orders or contacts because a notification arrived twice

    Mitigation

We design each workflow so that processing the same thing twice creates nothing new, and we test it by forcing that case.

  3. 03

Personal data flowing through clouds you do not control

    Mitigation

Self-hosted n8n in your infrastructure or in Europe, minimum permissions in each application and encrypted credentials.

  4. 04

    Workflows only their author understands

    Mitigation

Documentation for every workflow, versioned exports and training for your team. If you leave one day, you take everything with you.

FAQ

n8n and Make Automation FAQs

What people ask us before starting.

What exactly does an n8n agency do?

It decides which processes are worth automating, builds the workflows, installs and maintains n8n if it runs on your servers, adds error handling and logs, and fixes the workflows when an application changes. What you pay for is not the tool; it is the time to design it properly and keep watching it.

How much does it cost to automate a process with n8n or Make?

With us, €3,000-15,000 per process, excluding VAT, depending on how many systems it touches, whether it uses AI and how many edge cases it has. Managed maintenance is optional and costs €500-1,000 a month. A self-hosted n8n server costs around €50 a month.

n8n or Make: which one should I choose?

If there is personal or sensitive data, high volume or you want to add code, self-hosted n8n. If you do not want to maintain a server and your team prefers a visual editor in the cloud, Make. The full comparison, with each platform’s prices, is in n8n vs Make vs a custom AI agent.

Will you install n8n on my own servers?

Yes. We install it on your server or on a European one we manage, with a database, backups, updates and encrypted credentials. The workflows and the data flowing through them stay in your infrastructure, which is what GDPR usually calls for when customer data is involved.

Can you charge me for setting up n8n if its licence is free?

Yes. The n8n licence (Sustainable Use License) allows an agency to charge for installing it, building and maintaining your workflows, training your team and advising you. What it does not allow is reselling n8n as a service so that third parties build their own workflows on that instance.

What happens when a workflow fails?

Its error path kicks in: it retries if the failure is temporary and, if not, alerts the person you chose with details of what failed and with which data. With managed maintenance, we see it and fix it.

Can you fix workflows someone else built?

Yes, and it is common. We start by reviewing what is there: which workflows work, which fail silently, where the credentials are and what duplicates data. We tell you what to fix, what to rebuild and what to switch off.

Can AI be used inside an n8n or Make workflow?

Yes, both platforms include nodes for calling AI models. We use them in specific steps (classifying, extracting data, summarising, drafting a reply) and validate the output before writing to any system. If the whole process depends on AI reasoning and deciding, a custom agent is the better option.

When should I move from n8n to code or a custom agent?

When the workflow has so many branches and exceptions that nobody understands it anymore, when the volume calls for a dedicated service or when the process requires reasoning over your data. Then we move it to code or to an AI agent, and often the n8n workflow keeps calling the agent only for the step that needs it.

What if I already use Zapier?

We can keep what works and move to n8n or Make whatever has become expensive or needs more control. First we review your workflows and volume, and tell you whether the switch pays off.
