Need to catch up? We give you a guide. 📖
The importance of analyzing statistics
In all aspects of digital marketing, it’s important to do things according to a strategy or a plan.
To create this planning, it is necessary to monitor the behavior of users, the number of views…
It is also useful to check if our strategy is working, if the contents like it or which ones have more popularity.
Well, it wasn’t going to be any different with Instagram.
How to turn on statistics on Instagram?
Turning on Instagram Insights is straightforward, but you need to switch your account to a business account.
FIRST: Go to your profile and, in the three bars in the upper right corner, select “Settings”.
SECOND: On the next screen, select “Account”.
THIRD: Go down among all the options and below the option of “Switch to professional account” will appear.
FOURTH: Select what type of activity you will carry out among the options offered by Instagram. They will also give you a choice between a creator or company account.
FIFTH: You can finish setting up your professional account with the help of Instagram.
It’s actually very simple! ✅
Don’t be afraid, Instagram will help you throughout the process.
Parameters you should look for and meaning
Once you have access to Instagram Insights, you’ll be able to see some of the platform’s most important parameters.
But what does each one mean?
Reach refers to the total number of people who have seen your post.
In this case, count the people and not the views, that is, if the same person enters your post 20 times, they will only count it once.
In the Summary section of Instagram Insights, you can see how many followers and non-followers have reached your account thanks to your reach.
Impressions do equal the number of views.
So if you have a follower who supports you a lot, if it enters 40 times in your publication it will inflate this parameter. 👀
It is the sum of all the actions that users perform on your publications. ➕
Explained this way it sounds strange, but in the end in most cases we can add:
- Clicks on Bio link
Anyway, the current version of Instagram will give you this number.
4. Times saved
The name is quite illustrative.
It’s the number of times users save your post.
Why is this particular parameter important?
It is said that now the algorithm values more the times saved than the likes themselves. 👍
So it has begun to be taken into account for Instagram statistics.
5. About your audience
One of the things that is talked about a lot in statistics is “engagement”.
The engagement of a post is the percentage of interactions it has had according to the number of people who have seen it.
It is a simple formula: (Total interactions / Reach ) x 100
If instead of a specific publication, you want general data, you can find it in Instagram Insights Summary.
You can select the time interval, and see all the parameters in a general way. 📊
Some external tools to view Instagram insights
Many times Instagram does not give us all the details we want.
Do you want to see the statistics of reels and stories, or videos? Instagram leaves you, but it’s not very comfortable.
You can try some external applications such as Metricool, which will also let you schedule publications.
You also have the classic SEMrush, or Hootsuite.
